Writers Room

Real-time collaboration. No server. No cloud. Just writers in a room.

Peer-to-Peer

Every connection is direct, device-to-device, over your local network. Nothing passes through the internet.

The Pen

Only one writer edits at a time. The Pen is passed between collaborators, keeping the script clean and conflicts impossible.

1

Host Starts

The host creates a session and shares the script over the local network.

2

Writers Join

Guest writers discover and join the session automatically via the lobby.

3

One Writes

The writer holding the Pen can edit the script. Everyone else sees changes live.

4

Raise Hand

When you want to write, raise your hand to request the Pen from the current holder.

5

Pass It On

When you are done, pass the Pen to the next writer. The flow stays smooth.

While You Wait

Guests without the Pen can still contribute through notes, alternate lines, and markup.

Guest Notes

Submit notes to any line in the script. The host reviews and can accept them.

Alt Lines

Write alternate versions of dialogue or action. Rank your favorites and pitch them to the room.

Markup

Flag sections with editorial marks. "Show don't tell." "Cut this." "Tone is off."

Raise Hand

Signal that you want the Pen. The current holder sees your request in real time.

Private by Design

Writers Room was built with one principle: your script should never leave the room.

No Internet Required

Devices connect directly over your local network via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Nothing touches the internet.

Direct Connection

Uses Apple MultipeerConnectivity. Device-to-device. No relay server in between.

Nothing Uploaded

No cloud storage. No temporary files on a server. When the session ends, the connection closes.
